Onward to new adventure
China is now the sixth country where I have been fortunate to be based.
During the 13 years between 2002 and 2015, I lived in Asia (Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul), so this region is very familiar territory filled with friends and alive with many memories.
While the pandemic has changed so much – indeed I am writing this from the 20th day of my COVID lockdown at Hangzhou – but I reckon that the fundamental essence of Asia remains much the same.
I am serving as Director General of Communications for the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
AIIB is a multilateral development bank capitalized up to $100 billion focused on financing the infrastructure of tomorrow with sustainability at its core (climate finance is an area of particular focus). The Bank is only six years old but has already grown to 105 members worldwide. This includes most Western countries such as Britain, Canada and Germany, but also Asian nations like Korea and Singapore and of course China (which has about 28% of the equity in the bank).
My new work email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org; but, as always, I will be reachable personally via email@example.com and on my mobile number which remains: +1 (647) 822-1000.
