Apology communication: East vs. West

I was interviewed for this story by John Duerden which appeared in the Nikkei Asian Review entitled: In Asia, ‘sorry’ can be lost in translation.

I was extensively quoted and definitely delighted to provide perspective because this particular subject matter niche has been an intense interest of mine for many years.

“In the West, corporate apologies are all too often transactional and informal, and involve saying whatever is necessary in the short-term to get the public to move on,” said Bob Pickard, a public relations expert who has spent years working in the Asia-Pacific region.
