When a company is publicly criticized by its founder

This week on BNN Bloomberg television, I commented on what companies should do when they are criticized in public by their founding CEO, as was recently the case with Encana Corporation. In my discussion with anchor Jon Erlichman, I made the point that this company, like almost all the ones that have controversial comms issues we end up talking about on TV, does not have a professional communications executive reporting directly to the CEO, which is often a sign that public relations problems lie ahead.
